I was sorely tempted by London and the French Art Show Exhibition of French Art, – The exhibition was held January 4–March 5, , at the galleries of the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, London. after Geneva, but I was so tired that I thought it would be much wiser to spend my few days of freedom in Italy having a real.   The exhibition itself, somewhat optimistically entitled Italian Art , was not a landmark in terms of art-historical scholarship and failed to stimulate interest in the seicento, perhaps because of the perennial problem of omissions. It presented a rather distorted view of the Renaissance itself, with minor artists such as Cosimo Tura.
